Tribal Health Initiative
What started off with a thatched roof health care centre today is 24 bedded hospital with secondary care facilities,catering to hundreds of tribals in Dharmapuri District of Tamil Nadu.The dream project of a couple,coupled with strong determination is reality now.Sounds like a fairy tail..mmm..no not at all.Initiative was brain child of two young doctors,that took form in 1993 in one of remote villages of TN-Sittlingi,thanks to DR.LALITHA ND DR.REGI.
First year
Out patient block under thatched roof.One village.
By third year
10 Bedded .OT room.Neonatal and Labour room and a Lab too.
NOW..
24 bedded.Full fledged OT room.21 villages under one roof.
No mothers dying in child birth for the last 4 years.LAUDABLE EFFORTS!
